ANZAC DAY Tribute

Members and guests who played at Oatlands on ANZAC Day would have seen the Anzac Poppy painted on the 18th fairway by our Course Super Dom Yates late on Wednesday evening.

Poppies grew on the battlefields of Belgium and France in World War I. Many Australian soldiers died there during the war. The poppy sends a message about remembering people who have died in wars.

We thank Dom for this lovely tribute!

From the Course

Due to the shortened week and annual leave, there is no Course Report this week, however the warmer weather of the last few days is further assisting the course recover from renovations and provide a healthy turf cover as we head into the cooler months.

The full Course Report will return in next week’s Enews.

Happy Golfing!

2023 Charity Fundraising

Each year, OGC run a series of fundraising activities to raise money for important charities that the Club has long supported. These events include golf events such as the Barbara Koch Day and Digger’s Day, along with smaller activities such as the Ladies recent clothing Buy, Swap, Sell.

The 2023 fundraising activities were recently reconciled and we are pleased to advise members that the following donations were sent to the respective charities:

  • Legacy Australia: $4,200
  • ANZGOG: $3,915
  • Children’s Medical Research Institute: $2,405

We thanks all members who supported the Club’s charity fundraising events and also those members who volunteer their time to make the various events and initiatives happen.

The next Charity Fundraising event The Barbara Koch Day, will take place on Thursday 9th May. Members will see our Ladies Committee out and about selling raffle tickets for this event which is the primary contributor of the Club’s donation to ANZGOG (Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group).
