Clubhouse Development Proposal Member Information Area

The member information area will remain in place up to the General Meeting on Wednesday 27th April and all members are encouraged to take a look through prior to casting your vote.

If members have any questions, please direct them to the General Manager, Sam Howe, gm@oatlandsgolf.com.au.

The video below provides an overview of the Information Area on display.

From the Course

Rainfall for the Week: 13.5mm,  Rainfall for 2022: 1,249.0mm   Dam: 100%   Green Speed: 9 feet

Finally, the course received some sunny weather at the end of last week and by Tuesday afternoon had returned dry enough to cut all surfaces, not having to worry about so many wet areas. Then Tuesday night, Mother Nature delivered a storm with the course receiving 10.5mm in a brief period. Wednesday morning we were back to similar conditions from the previous week.

Another short week, with the focus again maintaining fairways, rough and surrounds to playable conditions. Growth regulator applied the previous week is doing its job and has suppressed extra growth during these wet periods. Tree bases, drainage pits and fairway sprinklers have also been trimmed and tidied up.

A herbicide application for Kikuyu encroachment and Poa Annua on the Couch collars and aprons was applied on one of the weekends when the course was closed. We are starting to see results with the Kikuyu yellowing off in these areas.

Our new bunkers have been in play all week and required minimal attention on Wednesday morning after the storm. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen any favourable weather to attend to the old bunkers and they will remain GUR until then.

Our Volunteers were missed again this week due to Easter Monday, as always gentleman thank you for all the tasks you assist the course team with and hopefully you squeezed in a couple of extra rounds of golf.

Enjoy the Weekend!

The Course Team.

ANZAC Day Trading – Sandwich Hut Closed

Members are advised that on ANZAC Day (Monday 25th April), the Clubhouse and Pro Shop will trade as normal with the exception of the Sandwich Hut being closed for the day. The Bistro Menu will be available as normal.

Hole in One – Cindy Wang, 18th Hole, Sunday 17th April

Congratulations to OGC member Cindy Wang for her hole in one on the 18th hole on Easter Sunday. Cindy’s ace can be seen in the video below.

Well done Cindy!

Have a Laugh with Max Dakic

The OGC PGA Professionals have been producing plenty of great video in the last year for members to enjoy. Most of the time the filming of these videos goes to plan (we now refer to David Ecob as one-take Dave) but every now and then the plan goes astray. So on that note, we give you Max Dakic (thrown under the bus by his Manager Jeremy).
