Our fantastic Course Super, Dom Yates, snuck in and painted a poppy on the 18th fairway last night to commemorate Anzac Day.
Poppies grew on the battlefields of Belgium and France in World War I. Many Australian soldiers died there during the war. The poppy sends a message about remembering people who have died in wars.
Lest we forget.

The Oatlands Ladies Grade Pennant side opened the competition today with a win against NSWGC at Long Reef GC 3 matches to 2.
The individual match scores were as follows;

β’ Paula Skelton - Lost 2 & 1

Congratulations to Paula Skelton and Linda Gyzen for their runner up result in the Womenβs Summer Foursomes Division 1 Nett @bayviewgolfclub over the last few days. The ladies were defeated in the semi-finals but represented the club with distinction.
Congratulations to our Encourage Shield team who have won the State Championship today beating Shelly Beach 4.5 to 1.5 in the final after winning yesterdayβs semi-final over Nelson Bay 6 to 0 (host venue @newcastlegolfcc ).
This is the a tremendous result for the Club and a reflection of our incredible Junior Development Programme (JDP). With the pathway now available from JDP to the High Performance (HPS) and Scholarship Programme, the future of the club representative teams looks very bright.

Oatlands defeated Massey Park today in the Semi Final of the Encourage Shield. The final score was 4.5 to 1.5.
We are in the Final for a second year in row.

At the Golf Industry Awards last night Oatlands GC Clubhouse Manager Karah Chapman won a GMA (Golf Management Australia) Women in Golf scholarship.
Jeremy Ward was a finalist for the PGA Club Professional of the Year and Sam Howe was a finalists for the PGA Management Professional of the year, however both missed out to worthy winners from Concord and Long Reef respectively.
Well done to all three.
