Masters Breakfast

The Clubs annual US Masters Breakfast took place on Monday 15th April, with 82 members and guests turning out, despite the change to the tee times for the last round of the Masters ,and as such the telecast being in replay.

It really is a credit to the Club spirit on show at Oatlands on a daily basis that so many people chose to watch the last round at the Club, amongst friends. Most golf clubs in the country hosting similar events, would have had to cancel or had substantially lower numbers than originally planned, however Oatlands members turned up in numbers, with only 10% of the field for golf cancelling.

The telecast was followed by an 18 hole individual stableford for the OGC Green jacket, with the course playing from the back tees and setup immaculately, all golfers enjoyed the day of inspired golf after watching the worlds best on the big screen.

The winner of the OGC green jacket Elias Wehbe with 39 points.

Green Tee Course

Following feedback from the membership, the Match Committee have decided to expand the green tee course and include green tee markers on all 18 holes. It is hoped that this will provide members, who struggle with the length of the current tee options, with a viable alternative to continue to enjoy their golf on a shorter course.

Implementation of this expanded green tee course will take place over the coming month once the tee markers are sourced. This will be communicated in subsequent Enews.

Once the tees are in place, a ball competition will be held from the green tees on a Wednesday and a Saturday, with prizes added based on the number of players in the green tee competition. The green tee competition will open to any handicap and age.
